Concept Design_ Allston Digital Art and Science Center
The project is focused on the integration of associative modeling in relation to numerically controlled manufacturing in order to configure the logics of an integral and digital mode of articulating the material system, and how they influence the direct production of physical space. The CNC foam cutter generates complex ruled surface from CAD data using a hot cutting wire. The project makes explicit use of the CNC foam cutter to rethink traditional 2D projected drawing techniques and their relationship to architectural form in specific site condition.
